​This year is a historic year for a lot of reasons. Perhaps no one has been affected more than those graduating from our area high schools. No spring sports. No prom. No activities or events. And no walking across the stage for graduation.

Each year the Telescope publishes a salute to our area graduates. And we will continue to do just that. This year’s format will be done in a full color magazine style. The kids deserve it. And I am always thankful for each and every one of you who helps sponsor this special section each year.

Some of you have been able to be reached by a member of the Telescope staff by phone or personal visit. Others have not, probably because you are being responsible about “social distancing.” That is why you are receiving this letter. We want to be able to make sure you have the opportunity to be a sponsor for this edition, like you typically have each year.

The price will be unchanged at $25.50. This year however, you will have the opportunity to have your ad in color at no extra charge. Certainly, this year has been a historic one.  Historic for each of us and equally so for your high school senior. Spring sports. Clubs. Events and activities.  Prom. Walking across the stage for graduation. All gone.

Each year the Telescope prints a high school graduation edition highlighting seniors from all of our area schools. This is a tradition that we are going to continue. The kids need recognition now, more than ever.

But this year we are going to do it a little differently. Instead of the usual tab section in the paper, we are going to print a full color, gloss magazine style edition that you and your graduate can keep for what will certainly be a year to remember.

With this keepsake edition we are giving you, the parents, the opportunity to put in your personal message, along with a picture or pictures of your special graduate.  We will have three price options for you to choose from: a 2 x 3 space for $58.50; a 2 x 4 space for $78.00 or a 2 x 5 space for $97.50.

If you would like your message and photo(s) of your graduate included with the others, please send them to The Belleville Telescope, along with payment, to 1805 N. Street Belleville Kansas. Or, during this time of social distancing you can also call the office at 785-527-2244 to make other arrangements.

Deadline will be Friday, May 15 at 5 p.m.

This will be a great edition and will be a great way to honor our graduates in what has been a very historic year.
