Telescope publisher At this time Kansas businesses have not been ordered to shut down by Gov. Laura Kelley, as has been the case with numerous other states. But, if that happens The Belleville Telescope will be exempt from that ruling. In a Friday morning conference call with The Kansas Press Association, the Telescope was told KPA officials had meet with state officials and newspapers were considered vital to Kansas' public interest. The Telescope will not be affected by any business closure or shelter in place mandate. "I applaud the decision by our governor, " Telescope co-publisher Fred Arnold said.
