4-H junior leaders host leadership day camp

The Republic County 4H Junior Leaders along with their sponsor Jenny Pachta held a Leadership Day Camp on June 16 at the Central Christian Church in Belleville. There were 29 campers in attendance that ranged from the 6-8th grade. The campers brought supplies, which included bottled water, first aid supplies and batteries as their registration fee. The 4-H Jr leaders will distribute those supplies collected to the Volunteer Fire departments across Republic County as a service project.

The Jr leaders led different sessions throughout the day which included: Leadership Building Skills, played different leadership activities to get to know each other and discuss what makes a good leader; Basic First Aid, the campers made their own 1st aid kits, with 2 representatives from the Republic Co Health Dept explaining first aid, cuts, burns, head injuries along with talking about calling the Poison Control; Science Activity of making slime and a learning activity about combustion reaction.
