Charlene Claire Rahe was born November 21, 1942 in Belleville, Kans. to Clarence and Sybil Rahe, and died May 8, 2017 at the age of 74.

She has an identical twin sister, Charlotte. She grew up on a farm in Republic where she attended country school and graduated salutatorian from Republic High School in 1960. She attended Kansas State and completed her degree in Elementary Education at University of Missouri St. Louis in 1968.

She worked in the St. Louis schools as a classroom teacher and worked in the library.

She married Gerald Swanson . Gerald and Charlene met in Manhattan, Kansas August 26, 1962.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Debbie (Scott) Schneidermann; son, Scott (Patty) Swanson; five grandchildren; her sister, Charlotte Nelson; brother, Randy (Phyllis) Rahe.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Sybil Rahe.

Services were held at the Republic United Methodist Church May 16 with Dr. Monte Shinkle of Jefferson City, Mo. officiating. Burial in Washington Cemetery, rural Republic. Memorials to Revive Church, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Concord Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Mo., The Billy Graham Association or Focus on the Family Ministries. Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, Belleville, Kansas was in charge of arrangements.
