The Republic County Junior High School student council hosted a penny war for 6-8th grade students. The penny war raised $1,190.88. Half of the money collected from the penny war will be donated to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center. The other half will be donated to the Oaks Indian Mission.

Both donations will be made in honor of the late Marcia Kadavy. Astra Bank, Citizen’s Bank, American State Bank and New Century Bank counted the money each day. The eighth grade class won the competition. Junior High Council members are pictured. Front row: Halley Hartner, Emily Hansen, Nicole Popelka.
